HP iPAQ 111 is a handheld personal organizer that looks very stylish. This device is WiFi friendly which means you can stay connected to update your contacts, calendars and other daily tasks. Always be in contact with friends and family with WiFi that enables you to surf the internet and sync your emails with your Bluetooth. Look sharp in any given situation with this portable device, since it is very small in size. This device will compliment very well with your mobile phone. This PDA device is the first to use Windows Mobile 6.0 technology.
Review:
Overall, this PDA is good. It is reliable, wireless capabilities are excellent, long battery life, USB 2.0 connection, and the screen is bright. It includes a microphone, rear speaker and a 3.5 headphone jack. It takes a long time to learn how to synchronize via wireless or cable connection from the windows mobile application. Bluetooth capabilities are fantastic. If the area you are in does not have a WiFi hotspot, you can connect your HP iPAQ 111 to the Bluetooth and get instant access. If you have a cell phone, you can share ringtones, pictures and other files. It is always nice to share files and browse files whenever you want.
What It Should Have Had:
More RAM would have been nice. More disk space but you can easily upgrade to SDHC or SD card. When you listen to music through your headphones, the volume control should have been improved. The sound is too loud and your eardrums are getting banged on like a Sex Pistols 6 hour jam session in England.
We’ve gotten spoiled by Blackberries, and the iPAQ’s keyboard is second rate. Really, what this is is an update on a 4 year old product, and it shows. It takes a lot of getting used to; if you already use one, you’re used to its quirks. We recommend buying one of the fold out Bluetooth keyboards for longer typing sessions.
HP iPAQ 111 Key Features:

*WiFi Friendly
*Ability to edit Word and other Office format documents
*Decent desktop to handheld calendar synchronization.
*624 MHz CPU; 256 MB Flash ROM; 64 MB RAM
Pros and Cons of HP iPAQ 111:
Pros:
*Fast processor
*WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities are excellent
*Long battery life
*Well supported by HP’s tech support team.
*Screen automatically adjusts brightness to save battery life.
Cons:
*Very slow when you are running other programs simultaneously
*The screen has pixels that are so small as to be unreadable for some
*If you hands are oily or sweaty, the PDA will be smudged
*Speaker is located at the back of the PDA; the sound is not very pleasant
*Horrible volume control that needs to be fixed.
It’s not that the iPAQ 111 is a bad PDA/handheld. It’s that it’s a refresh on a design that’s been passed over by smartphones and media players. While it’s got a full features set of programs and some third party applications, it’s got enough quirks from legacy stuff and hindrances from Windows Mobile, that unless you’re already familiar with them, you’ll be muttering about how this thing is messing up your life. Any tech gadget has a learning curve, this one has an unacceptable one for us. If you need a PDA and for whatever reason don’t want a smart phone, this isn’t a bad one to pick up.
