Since the introduction of Aluminum Unibody Macbooks, Apple has begun to slowly phase out the previous generation of the Polycarbonate White Macbooks. There’s still one revamped white Macbook available on Apple’s online store, but the inventory is noticeably few than before, especially in the company’s refurbished deals section.
The MacBook runs on Intel based processors and have their own integrated operating system in them. ‘X Leopard’ is their latest operating system known for its easy usability and smooth functioning. The MacBooks laptops have come out in different variants like, MacBook, MacBook Air and MacBook pro.
There are definitely distinct differences between the current generation of aluminum unibody Macbooks and the previous generation of polycarbonate Macbooks. The obvious distinction is the material used for the system enclosure.
Apple introduced the glossy display screen, which has been quiet popular for its brighter viewing and better contrast abilities. The MacBook are priced from Rs 50,000 onwards and come in the conventional white colour, the black color models are also available with added costs.
Glossy displays are suppose to give uses more vibrant colors and higher contrast ratios. However, many argue that glossy displays also reflect too much light, often to the point where it’s hard to read the screen. Thus a significant group of Mac users still prefer the old matte displays found in the polycarbonate Macbooks.
Nvidia powers the display for both Macbook models. Instead of Intel integrated graphics, the Macbook gets the Nvidia GeForce 9400M. The Macbook Pro gets a GeForce 9400M and a 9600M GT. Depending on the situation, the user can switch between either graphics chips.
Overall, the Macbook and Macbook Pro line has received a nice update. They both feel really solid and represent some of the finest notebooks available today. If you’re looking for a notebook that offers a lot of bang for the buck, look elsewhere. You can buy a similarly configured Dell notebook for hundreds less. They won’t have the really nice exterior casing, but the overall performance will be similar. But for those who prefer to use a Mac, this new line-up is hard to resist due to it’s improvements and overall refinement.
